Doma United Extends Four Game Unbeaten Streak with 1-0 Victory over Enyimba in NPFL Rescheduled Match
In a thrilling encounter at the Pantami Stadium, Doma United secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Enyimba in the rescheduled match day four of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), extending their unbeaten run in the competition to four games.
The decisive moment came in the 16th minute when Hillary Ekawu was calm with a clinical strike, connecting beautifully with Emmanuel Ekpenyong after an impressive interplay. The goal sent the home crowd into raptures, solidifying Doma United’s dominance in the early stages of the game.
The Savannah Tigers exhibited a strong start, buoyed by the support of the almost full-to-capacity Pantami Stadium. Ekawu had earlier attempted a long shot, narrowly missing the target, while Majalisa’s towering header from Sani Suleiman’s corner kick went agonizingly wide.

Continuing their relentless attack, Ekpenyong, Hillary, Sani, and Charles Terwar kept Enyimba’s defence on their toes. The breakthrough moment arrived when Ekpenyong stole the ball from the midfield, initiating a sequence that led to Hillary’s left-footed shot finding the back of the net.
Enyimba had their chances, notably after Auwal Abubakar’s misplaced pass gave their striker an opportunity. However, Kingdom Osayi, Doma United’s goalkeeper, made a crucial save to deny the visitors an equalizer.
As the game progressed, Enyimba intensified their efforts, but Doma United’s defence, led by Haruna Aliyu and Saifullahi Yusuf, stood firm. Osayi continued to showcase his goalkeeping prowess, making key saves to maintain the lead.

The match was not without its share of drama, as Enyimba’s Assistant Coach Yemi Olanrewaju received the first booking, while Doma United’s Samuel Matthew and Haruna Aliyu also found themselves in the referee’s book. Daniel Daga of Enyimba was sent off for a second bookable offense.
Despite the challenges, Doma United held on to their slim lead, securing the three crucial points. The victory sets the stage for an exciting clash as Doma United is set to host Plateau United in the upcoming fixture at the Pantami Stadium on Saturday, November 18, 2023.
