Match Report: Doma United Maintain Second Spot Despite 2-0 Defeat to Sunshine Stars

Doma United faced a setback in their NPFL title push, succumbing to a 2-0 defeat against Sunshine Stars of Akure. Isaac Emmanuel’s 20th-minute goal gave the home side an early lead, and despite the Tigers’ efforts to equalize before halftime, they fell short.

Coach Akinade Onigbinde made a halftime substitution aimed to level things up, but Sunshine Stars capitalized in the 47th minute, extending their lead. Despite Doma United’s persistent efforts, they were unable to overturn the deficit, resulting in a victory for Sunshine Stars.

Despite the loss in their last game of the year, Doma United maintains second position on the NPFL log, trailing Remo Stars and staying ahead of Lobi Stars who are both in action on Thursday.
