The Technical Advicer of Doma United Akinade Onigbinde has praised the spirited performance put in by his players in the 1-0 lost against Dakkada in Match Day 13 of the NPFL in Uyo.
“We sat deep in the first half and absorbed all the pressure so tried to hit them on a counter but it couldn’t work. But as you saw, the boys came all out in the second half. I believe it’s something we will go back home and work on. It wasn’t a bad game entirely. My players gave it their but it wasn’t just our day. Dakkada played well too”.
In a highly contested match, coach Akinade said his team’s mission in Uyo was to leave with at least a point but his side’s inability to convert chances cost them the match “We came here hoping to pick at least a point from the game but it wasn’t going to be. The boys created some very good chances in the second half and even in the first half but as we couldn’t convert them, it cost us the game. This is something we are going to work on and I believe it will definitely improve in our next game”.
Our next game will be a home northeast derby against Wikki Tourist of Bauchi on Sunday 16th April 2023 at the Pantami Township Stadium, Gombe.
But before then, we’ll engage Gombe United in the Gombe State FA Cup final on Wednesday 12th April at the same Pantami Stadium
